Damian Lewis back for Season 3 of Homeland…

Great news for all you Homeland fans…Damian Lewis will return for season three of the hit Showtime series, the show’s executive producer has confirmed!

dmain-lewis-use   Perfect timing too. Earlier this week (and deservedly so), Lewis won a Golden Globe for his excellent performance as conflicted war veteran Nicholas Brody. Co-star Claire Danes also won for her portrayal of bipolar CIA agent Carrie Mathison, while the show itself collected the trophy for ‘Best TV drama’.

Although Brody was not killed off, when season two ended his future on the show looked uncertain.

Even Lewis himself teased the idea of Brody NOT returning to the show, stating that Brody could die despite Damian signing a long contract with the show.

He said: “I’m signed for seven seasons. But that doesn’t mean anything. You know that. They can kill me whenever they want.

“Maybe they’ll kill him off [in the season two finale]. They could tell an entirely new story next year. Maybe that’s what they want to do.”

Up until now, Homeland bigwigs have remained tightlipped when asked about his role in season three.

But executive producer Howard Brooks has now confirmed that Brody will definitely be involved. He said:“He’s alive so of course he’ll be back. One of the great challenges of next [season] is how he’ll be back. But there’s no doubt that he will be back.”

US network Showtime officially renewed Homeland back in October. Season three begins in the US on September 29 and should start on Channel 4 (UK) shortly afterwards.

Thankfully, Brody is not going anywhere… Congrats to Damian… I was well chuffed for his win!
