WIZARD NEWS: Radcliffe’s got a magic new role…

We all miss the days when Daniel Radcliffe was rocking the wand and wizard hat back in his Harry Potter days!

Take heart in the fact that Radcliffe is at least back to the illusionist world of Now You See Me.

Lionsgate studios announced Tuesday that Now You See Me 2 will feature Radcliffe and Lizzy Caplan –  joining the cast as more magic and a bigger heist is summoned.

The 2013 caper about a group of illusionist bank robbers – Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher and Dave Franco – is gearing up for a sequel.

The sequel’s plot will still revolve around the Four (now Three?) Horsemen, one year after the first film.

The group’s services are enlisted by an enemy who asks them to partake in one of the Horsemen’s most dangerous heists yet – presumably until Now You See Three-D brings the heist action into a new dimension.

Those other guys are good at magic. But are they Hogwarts good? Think not.

Radcliffe told said last week that he’s interested in finding “weird, eccentric” roles since the Potter franchise ended in 2011. And he’s lived up to that, playing a horned murder suspect in the recently-released Horns. He will likely look even stranger when he stars as Igor in the upcoming Frankenstein reboot, directed by Jon M. Chu. As for Now You See Me 2, Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine are all set to return. The film is set for release on June 10, 2016.
