Charles Spencer to appear at BABC event in Santa Monica

CHARLES SPENCER, brother of the late Princess Diana, former NBC correspondent and author of several books, will make a rare local public appearance next month at a special reception and book signing of his latest work, Killers of the King: The Men Who Dared to Execute Charles I.

earl-spencer-wife-karen  The event is hosted by the British American Business Council and is set for Monday, March 31st from 6pm-8pm at the Viceroy Hotel on Ocean Boulevard in Santa Monica. The $25 admission price ($40 for non-members) includes a complementary glass of wine, hors d’oeuvres and a no-host bar.

Charles is the Ninth Earl Spencer and master of the magnificent country pile Althorp in Northamptonshire. He is perhaps best known on these shores both for his famous sister and his colorful personal life, which has included two divorces amid multiple allegations of infidelity. Since 2011 he has been married to the Canadian philanthropist Karen Gordon, a former hotel receptionist, model and ex-wife of Hollywood producer Mark Gordon. The couple also have a home in Pacific Palisades.
