Hello Breeps:

FIT FOR ANYTHING: Ricky Parcell’s workouts have given us a jump start on summer

I want to start by saying a huge thank you to Ricky Parcell, PT, for leading six weeks of Brit Fit Club. Many of us had the advantage of meeting him and got the benefit of his training techniques. He’s gone back to the UK now for a little while to teach some masterclasses in Europe but will be back in September – so hopefully we’ll start Brit Fit club back up then. We’re all quite a bit leaner and meaner than we were when this started, and I’m sure that will give us momentum with those warm summer months ahead!

As we are all about community we will be supporting Gay Pride weekend on June 12-14th, hosting a screening of LGBT short films at the Soho House on Saturday June 13th. We are also accepting submissions, so please send any screening links to craig@britsin.la Then on Sunday June 14th, The UKares Foundation and The British Consulate will team up during the actual parade by rolling down Santa Monica Boulevard in a vintage British double decker followed by a great party at Cecconi’s restaurant. If you would like to help or get involved in any of the festivities please email fharden@ukares.org

Since Spring has most definitely sprung, its time for a good old cleaning and I’d like to recommend a book that helped me clear out four huge bin-liners full of clothing, “The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up” by Marie Kondo, available at bookstores, Amazon and iBooks too. With it’s very easy, super-simple approach, it’s remarkable how much I got to do in such a short space of time. Papers next!

I also managed to catch the documentary Soul boys of the Western World about those old new romantics, Spandau Ballet at The Arena Screening Room in Hollywood. I know Eileen gushed about this documentary last wee, but I have to add my two cents’ worth: it was a really well done, remarkable film about the band’s journey, ups and downs, trials and tribulations. So great to see those London lads back together and making music!

Tuesdays are fast becoming Brit Tuesdays with our British Breakfast Club at Cecconi’s in West Hollywood absolutely thriving and our popular Pub Quiz at the Pikey back with a vengeance. Hope to see you at one of the events soon….

Cheers!

Craig
