After its newest installment, Fast and Furious 7 grossed a whopping $1.5 billion, Brit heartthrob Jason Statham has already agreed to star in yet another sequel of the American action film franchise.

“We’re already talking about doing another one, part eight,” Statham said.

And who can blame him? It was the first movie which starred Statham, who played the antagonist in the film. Apparently the producers were so happy with Jace’s performance that they are working (ahem)furiously on securing him for Fast and Furious 8.

Spoiler Alert! The 7th movie followed Dominic Toretto (played by Vin Diesel), Brian O’Conner (played mostly by the late and great Paul Walker, to whom the film was a tribute) Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) and the rest of the gang as they returned to the United States to live normal lives.

The movie starts off with a bang as Deckard Shaw (Statham) kills Han, a member of Toretto’s team in Tokyo and at the same time blows up the gang’s house in the States. The film rolls on furiously afterwards, and although Shaw avoids capture for most of the movie, eventually he is taken into custody by Hobbs and locked away in a secret, high-security prison.

The ending already left open the opportunity to bring Statham back for the next movie, and as confirmed by the actor himself recently, he will indeed be rejoining the cast of Fast and Furious 8. This will also make the British actor the second person after Diesel to be reappearing in the next film.

Rumors are now circulating about the next movie in the franchise include a New York setting and also talks of Eva Mendes rejoining the circus. The sultry actress appeared in the second film 2 Fast 2 Furious back in 2003 as an undercover U.S. Customs Service agent Monica Fuentes.

Statham noted: “I’m a newcomer. I just got invited to the party in this last one, so it’s nice to know I’m going to be doing another.”

Since “The Fast and the Furious” debuted back in 2001, the franchise as a whole has earned nearly $4 billion worldwide at the box office… Oo-er!
