Cricket among the expats in Hollywood has a long a glorious history which was continued in fine style last weekend at the Simon Jones Testimonial 20/20 limited overs match at Woodley Cricket Ground in Van Nuys.
A BAFTA XI took on the Simon Jones XI and good time was had by all. Players included Kris Lythgoe, Audley Harrison, Piers Morgan and Julian Stone. Simon Philip Jones MBE (pictured above with actor Ioan Gruffudd) is a Welsh cricketer who played internationally for England and was part of the invincible ASHES 2005 team. Simon played county cricket successively for Glamorgan, Worcestershire, and Hampshire, before re-signing with his first county, Glamorgan, in December 2011 on a two-year deal. He retired from first class cricket in 2014.
