DESPITE earlier saying he would rather ‘slash his wrists’ than play James Bond again, Daniel Craig is likely to agree to one more outing as the world’s most famous spy, according to the Daily Mirror.

Phew!

The film’s producers are said to be delighted with the boffo box office of Spectre, Craig’s latest venture into Bondage, which grossed a lethal £41.3 million in the UK and a killer $73 million in the U.S. during its opening week, prompting producer Michael G. Wilson to predict that the British hunk will star as Bond for the fifth time, saying, “We think we got him but we don’t have a contract.”

In The Frame? Tom Hardy

A source also told The Mirror that Craig isn’t going anywhere yet, “The directors know they would be daft to replace him at a stage where he is so popular. It’s almost certain he will do one more outing as Bond.

“Then the search for a replacement will start. Daniel has always made it quite clear that he will available to play the role as long as he is required,” the source added. If Craig does agree to don that famous dinner jacket one more time, producers will have three more years to choose the next James Bond but fans are already flooding social media with their preferences, and leading the way seems to be “Mad Max: Fury Road” star Tom Hardy.

Oo-er!

Last week, Time asked its readers to vote on which actor or actress they want to step into 007’s highly-polished shoes. Idris Elba topped the poll with 12.5 percent; Tom Hardy notched just 5.5 percent with 300 star Gerard Butler bringing up the rear at 3.1 percent.

UnrealityTV said that although Elba consistently tops the polls, Hardy is the “most exciting” choice and with him on board, the franchise’s female fan base would certainly increase. And leading UK lifestyle website Highsnobeity.com added that “there isn’t a better chameleon” than Tom Hardy, given his varied roles in Batman, Peaky Blinders, Bronson, Mad Max and Legend.

At least one bookie has Hardy as odds-on favorite to succeed Craig at 2/1, followed by Idris Elba at 3/1, Damian Lewis at 7/2 and Henry Cavill at 4/1.

I love the idea of Tom… But Daniel darling, you cannot quit just yet… One more please!!
