The 70-year-old acting legend proved exactly why she is the queen of style as arrived at the Palm Springs Film Festival wearing a royal blue outfit.

Oozing elegance Dame Helen – who won an Oscar for her role in 2007 film The Queen – donned a sparkling metallic belt to compliment her two-piece.

With a voluminous skirt paired with a softly knitted cardigan the award-winning actress finished off her look with some matching sapphire earrings.

Showing just a touch of cleavage, the L’Oreal model demonstrated exactly why she is the face of the brand with a freshly blown-out ‘do.

Dame Helen’s blonde edgy cropped bob, gave her red carpet look a modern glow and her stunning pink-lipped smile helped add yet more beauty.

Forgoing to usual clutch the Woman in Gold star opted for an over the shoulder contrasting pale blue chain strap purse.

Dame Helen was joined by other Hollywood A-listers at the annual event, including Johnny Depp, Matt Damon, Cate Blanchett and Kate Winslet.

She was there to present a Spotlight award to her Trumbo co-star Bryan Cranston.

Helen will likely be a regular on the red carpet as she has already picked up SAG nominations for her role in The Woman in Gold and supporting part in the movie alongside the Breaking Bad actor.

In other festival news, Johnny Depp was awarded with Best Actor at the Palm Springs Film Festival, and was accompanied by his wife Amber Heard.

The two were spotted holding hands on the red carpet before, the dashing actor hugged his former co-star Kate Winslet.
