BRITISH ACTOR and singer Richard Shelton will appear live on Thursday, March 24th at 8.30pm at the Catalina Bar & Grill in Hollywood in support of his newest album, ‘AN ENGLISHMAN IN LOVE IN LA’ with a live performance at the famous jazz venue.
Shelton is perhaps best known to a British audience for portrayal of the murderous series regular Dr Adam Forsythe on the long-running soap Emmerdale Farm, as well as his role as Mr. Benson in Showtime’s House of Lies alongside Don Cheadle. A veteran actor, Shelton also worked alongside Richard Todd and Anthony Newley early in his career.
But Shelton is also an accomplished vocalist whose new work is influenced by jazz, swing and Frank Sinatra’s classic works, Shelton will take the audience on a “nostalgic yet innovative” musical journey through his album’s 13 tracks which include fresh new arrangements of classics including “Young at Heart”, “Pure Imagination”, a sensual ballad version of “It’s Not Unusual” made famous by Tom Jones, “And I Love Her” by Lennon/McCartney and the original swing title track ‘An Englishman in Love in LA’, which celebrates life’s new beginnings, in the style of ‘Come Fly With Me’.
Richard is coming off his award-winning London stage turn as Sinatra in the drama ‘Rat Pack Confidential’. In the upcoming show, Richard will also take a look ‘behind the blue eyes’ of Sinatra, evoking the spirit and charisma of one of the world’s most beloved entertainers.
