THE LOCAL BRITISH expat scene is always changing thanks to the constant influx of new talent and voices to these shores from across the pond.
But one constant amid all this change is the Mayflower Club in North Hollywood. This venerable instituation has just celebrated it’s 50th anniversary as a functioning British-American social club and on June 4th and 11th the club will stage a Murder/Mystery. This consists of a short play in three acts and a three course meal with wine, the format being, first course, Act I, second course, Act II, third course, Act III. The players then mingle with the guests who may question them and they all, except for the murderer, must answer truthfully. The audience then write down who they believe is the murderer and the correct answers are then entered into a drawing for a prize. The current play “Ghosts of the Titanic” was written by one of our members and directed by another, with all cast members also being Club members.
