A big brava to fellow Brit Carly Steel, who this week was named a correspondent for CBS’ Entertainment Tonight, where she previously served as a special correspondent.

Oo-er!

Back in the day, I worked with Carly on TV Guide‘s Hollywood 411 with the ‘Bachelor’ host Chris Harrison, so I am especially thrilled for her.

carly-steelThe Scots lassie, who is known for her high-profile celebrity interviews, has been a part of the ET family for years, from serving as a special correspondent for ET’s sister show, The Insider, to joining ET as a special correspondent after covering the 2013 Cannes Film Festival.

Steel said of her new full-time role: “I’m so excited to officially join the incredibly talented Entertainment Tonight team,” she told Us Weekly.

“The past two years, working as a regular special correspondent at ET, have already been a high-octane whirlwind- from touring Mariah Carey’s yacht in Capri to globetrotting on Tom Cruise’s jet.

She added: “I’m already looking forward to the many fun and fabulous adventures we’re going to take the viewers on soon – stay tuned!”

Steel joins the two-time Emmy-winning newsmagazine, now in its 36th season, following the news that CBS News veteran Sharon Hoffman has been named executive producer at ET and The Insider. CBS Corp had been looking for a new ET EP since Brad Bessey exited in August.

Good luck Carly, we will be watching!
