Cyber Monday, Christmas Party and Film Premiere…

Greetings Britlings!

Hope you all had a lovely thanksgiving, which is odd for us Brits I know, when you really think about the origins of it. Sort of like our Guy Fawkes’ night!  Did you know that Turkey was never served as the first Thanksgiving meal? According to my sources, the turkey is a uniquely American (and scrumptious) bird, and it gained traction as the Thanksgiving meal of choice for Americans AFTER Lincoln declared Thanksgiving a national holiday in 1863.

Our current POTUS had fun in his Thanksgiving speech with his two daughters, naming the bird TOTUS, however Sasha and Malia didn’t seem to be too impressed with their father’s jokes. Poor Barry is turning into that awkward uncle who dances at weddings. I still love him though and will miss him when he’s gone.

THANKSGIVING CENTRAL: lovely Legoland
THANKSGIVING CENTRAL: lovely Legoland

I got to spend thanksgiving this year in Legoland. Which even despite the rain and the two-hour drive was truly a lot of fun. I highly recommend it. We actually ended up buying ourselves a mini Big Ben lego set to give us something to do over the holidays. Oh boy, what have we gotten ourselves into? Well one great thing about the bad weather was that we got to go on all the rides without much of a wait. Also worth noting, that AAA members get a discount.

Eileen and I are very busy prepping our special Brits in LA Christmas Dinner party for you all, partnering with British Chef Brendan Collins at Birch restaurant in Hollywood. The menu is truly scrumptious and very traditionally British. We will have Christmas crackers and a raffle that includes two round trip tickets to London, courtesy of our Silver Sponsor, Air New Zealand. (www.airnewzealand.com) We are also really excited to have the support of Immigration Attorney’s Beltran Brito. (www.o1visa.com) .

Speaking of Air New Zealand, they just offered a wonderful Cyber Monday deal, where the public could get flights to the UK for around $400-$500. Plus if you add the Brits in LA discount code (only available to Facebook Members of Brits in LA) you could have gotten a further 12% off Premium Economy and Business Class tickets. These codes still work and are good through next year….so make sure you sign up to get the discounts.

bila-kiss-meOn a personal note, I’m looking forward to the LA premiere of my feature film Kiss Me Kill Me on Dec 6th at the Crest Theatre in Westwood. I’m really proud of this film, it’s a murder mystery set in West Hollywood. It’s always fun to see places you know on film, and we shot at the famous Pink-Dot market on Sunset Boulevard, at the Andaz hotel, The Abbey and many other familiar spots. I’d love for you to come and join me – tickets are $35 with an afterparty with the cast following the screening. Get your tickets at www.crestwestwood.com.

Cheers,

Craig Young
