British journalist Ben MacIntyre in conversation with Ben Ross

 

Writers Bloc presents the acclaimed British historian and journalist, and expert on WWII British espionage, Ben MacIntyre, in conversation with Steve Ross at Temple Emanuel on January 21st at 1pm.

MacIntyre is the author of such noted nonfiction books on spies as Operation Mincemeat: The True Spy Story That Changed the Course of WWII; Agent Zigzag: The True Wartime Story of Eddie Chapman: Lover, Betrayer, Hero, Spy; and Rogue Heroes: The Story of the SAS, Britain’s Secret Special Forces Unit That Sabotaged the Nazis and Changed the Course of WWII .  His books center on historical events and individuals– many of them spies– whose quiet and often unsung contributions led to major gains for the Allies against Hitler in World War II.  Steve Ross is a professor at USC, is the author of several books, including his new work, Hitler in Los Angeles: How Jews Foiled Nazi Plots in Hollywood and America, a shocking story of a group of people who thwarted fascist and Nazi party violence in Los Angeles during World War II.
