Skinny as a Pegg? Simon gets a six pack!

British actor Simon Pegg has surprised everyone with his success in Hollywood in recent years.

The Shaun of the Dead star who first found fame on Channel 4 show Spaced, has had a number of roles in major U.S. movies.

From his role as Montgomery Scott in the new Star Trek franchise, to starring alongside Tom Cruise in the Mission: Impossible film series, Simon is a mega hot property right now.

And if you think Pegg might be spreading himself a bit thin, well, read on….

It’s quite normal to see actors transform their bodies for roles, sometimes slimming down, sometimes bulking up, sometimes shaving all their hair off… whatever it takes, basically.

And while we’d normally associate such extreme transformations with the likes of Christian Bale or Matthew McConaughey, it seems Pegg – who’s known for comedy flicks like Hot Fuzz, and Paul– has now joined the ranks, too. His personal trainer, Nick Lower, shared an update of Pegg’s six-month transition, explaining he had to get ‘lean, VERY lean’ for his new role in the indie thriller Inheritance.

“It required a specific body shape and look,” Lower explained in a tweet.

He said Pegg’s body weight went from 78kg down to 69kg, and his body fat from 12 per cent to eight per cent.

This was achieved through a mix of strength and circuit training, core trail runs and a sound nutrition plan that worked for him and his goals.

“6 months of hard work has paid off and I tip my hat to you sir…” Lower said.

Pegg also shared the photo, joking the journey also included ‘mild grumpiness’.

In the snap Simon was pictured laughing as went shirtless, simply rocking a baseball cap and tracksuit bottoms.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Inheritance follows the family of a wealthy patriarch after he suddenly passes away, as they discover a shocking secret inheritance that threatens to destroy life as they know it.

Pegg, who will star alongside Kate Mara, will reportedly be teaming up with British filmmaker Vaughn Stein once again for the film – following their recent work together on 2018 neo-noir thriller Terminal, which also featured Aussie actor Margot Robbie.
