Where better to celebrate a good cause than in the sizzling sunshine of Malibu, California? That was the setting Sunday when celebrities and friends gathered to join British author Louise Ashby to launch her charity, the Louise Ashby Children’s Fund.

In 1992 Louise suffered a near fatal car crash that left her disfigured and fighting for her life. But after many years and numerous painful surgeries Ashby recovered and told her story in her captivating memoirs Magic of the Mask.

Setting up the foundation has been a dream of Louise’s for the past ten years. Louise told me “Having experienced so many uncomfortable and painful situations as a child and teenager, feeling there was nobody to talk to, I felt it was important to set up this foundation offering a support system as one of the many services to benefit children and their families.”

Looking stunning in her exclusively designed outfit by Julia Clancey, Ashby dazzled the guests at the LPB Malibu Beach House including Ioan Gruffudd and his actress wife Alice Evans, Donald Trump’s ex, Marla Maples and top Model agent Rosie Niku.

Attendees tucked into nibbles from Pink Taco while sipping on Veev lemonade cocktails. The gift bags contained items from designers such as Loree Rodkin, Million Dollar Denim, Bionova, gift certificates from Petit Ermitage Hotel, Jpselects and other fabulous products.
