Britweek Rides into South Coast Plaza

Did you know that English carousels ride clockwise - but all the other carousels in the world ride anti-clockwise?

     The reason we are telling you this is because the carousel that graces South Coast Plaza Crate & Barrel/Macy’s Men’s Store wing was the first British Carousel handcrafted in 60 years and it was the centrepiece of the Festival of Britain hosted by South Coast Plaza in 1990.  Fast forward to 2008 and South Coast Plaza is once again playing host to British themed as part of the BritWeek celebrations.

     The festivities culminate in an invitation “Afternoon Tea” in Jewel Court at South Coast Plaza, as well as an “enter-to-win” $1000 South Coast Plaza Shopping Spree, which will provide invitees and guests the opportunity to see and ride the traditional British Carousel that is themed for the ‘Knights of the Round Table’.

     The British retailers at the plaza are proud to offer uniquely British products and are delighted to participate in BritWeek 2008. British brands at the Plaza include Burberry, Jimmy Choo, John Lobb, Jo Malone, Molton Brown, Ted Baker and Vidal Sassoon Salon.
