Soccer star David Beckham has landed another acting role; playing himself (um, again),on the new hit TV comedy Go On opposite former Friends star Matthew Perry.

On the show, Perry plays a sports news host who is struggling to cope with life after the death of his wife, and now he is building a wish list of top athletes he would like to appear as cameos.

Footie ace Becks, who previously played himself in 2005 film Goal!, has already been signed up, and now Matthew is aiming to sign ice hockey star Wayne Gretzky and tennis aceJimmy Connors, among many more.

Perry said: “We’ve talked to David Beckham and he said that he would do it, so that was very exciting.

“We have asked (ice hockey icon) Wayne Gretzky; I’d love to have him on the show at some point.

“My favourite athlete of all time is (tennis ace) Jimmy Connors, so, I guess my hope is that we get Jimmy Connors to come back and work with me again, which would be a dream come true.”

I’ve have watched the show and wasn’t exactly impressed by it, but after hearing Beckham is to appear, I might tune in again to see how he does!
