This week saw Pepper, an independent short flick go into production in Los Angeles… So, what’s new about that I hear you say, in Hollywood films get the greenlight daily…
But “Pepper” is a little different from the rest. I have seen the passion and drive from all involved on this project right from the start. I even had a (very small) hand in helping “Pepper” get off the ground, by raising funds through Kickstarter.
The film stars the super-talented actor Scott Kaske (pictured) as Pepper and Dark Skies star Kadan Rockett as 8 year-old Charlie.
Described by its producer/director team Marc Cleary and Craig Robert Young (main picture), “Pepper” is “a beautiful short film about love, acceptance, when an unlikely friendship develops between an 8 year old boy and a female impersonator.”
Like my Oscar-winning bud, John Battseck, whose incredible production One Day in September scooped the award for Best Documentary, Features back in 2000, I predict similar successes for “Pepper”!
And clearly things went well on set. On his Facebook page earlier this week Craig wrote: “Wrap for day 2- brilliant day on Pepper. Thanks cast and crew. Without you = no Pepper The Movie – Thank you thank you thank you!”
I reckon this is only just the beginning of something quite remarkable… Watch this space for regular updates on “Pepper” and see the magic unfold!
