I hear my mate Mel B is set to replace Nicole Scherzinger on the British X Factor if the U.S star bails on the show.
The former Pussycat Doll has still not agreed to join the new series, although she held talks with producers last week.
Nicole has reportedly been offered $1.7million to join the ITV show, but doesn’t know whether she can commit herself because she has a new album to promote in November.
A source close to Nicole said she did intend to sign up for the show — when she had hammered out a deal.
Ex-Spice Girls singer Mel has been brought back into the frame after her schedule was freed up following her withdrawal from Australia’s Got Talent.
An insider said: “Nicole is causing some worry. Bosses want her after her success last year, but she doesn’t know if she can give all her energy to the show.
“Producers don’t want to be left in the lurch like last year so Mel is being lined up in case talks fail.”
I would rather see “our” Mel on the show than Nichole anyway… So good luck to her, I say!
