He’s made his name starring in a string of hard man action roles such as The Transporter, Crank and The Expendables.
Now I hear British hunk Jason Statham plans to get in touch with his lighter side by signing up for a bit of comedy if talks go well.
He has already met with director Paul Feig who apparently wants him to join Melissa McCarthy in Fox TV‘s Susan Cooper.
Oo-er!
The spy comedy puts Feig and McCarthy back together after they teamed up for the hits Bridesmaids and The Heat. Susan Cooper sees McCarthy cast as an unlikely secret agent. The show was conceived as a comedic riposte to the 007 adventure Casino Royale, and Statham will play an agent colleague of McCarthy’s – presumably a straight-arrow in a very ‘odd coupling’.
Step forward our Jase, who will next be seen alongside James Franco and Kate Bosworth in Homefront. He’s also just wrapped shooting The Expendables 3.
I think a little light-heated telly with do Jason the world of good… I love all his films even if I can’t understand a word he says (and I’m British!).
So, I just stare at him…and why not?!
