The British American Business Council in Orange County will host a discussion focusing on EU/US trade and investment on Thursday, July 12th at the Hotel Irvine, 17900 Jamboree Road in Irvine.

The event is titled: “The Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership: Could this be the Economic Deal of the Century?” and features contributions from both British Consul-General Chris O’Connor and his German counterpart, Dr. Bernard Fischer.

In the past two decades the world has seen a push towards free trade agreements between nations and economic blocs. The Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) aims to expand the already massive trade relationship between the US and the European Union.  This event will examine questions including: What are the biggest challenges facing this agreement? What are the projected gains for various industries in the US and EU? And how should the parties respond to popular protests against the agreement?

The evening kicks off at 6pm with a reception, followed by dinner at 7pm and the discussion program to begin at 7.45pm. Cost is $60 for BABC OC member and $75 for non members. For more details and tickets visit www.babacoc.org
