Sunday, October 26th sees the annual Kirkin’ O The Tartans, scheduled for 11am at the Beverly Hills Presbyterian Church, 505 North Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. Guests are encouraged to arrive early enough to secure a place. The front rows of the church will be cordoned off for St. Andrew’s members and their guests. The church choir will lead the processional into the church followed by piper and officers and members of SAS in Highland Dress.

Dr. Lloyd Ogilvie will officiate as preacher. Dr. Ogilvie served as Chaplain to the US Senate from 1995 to 2003.

There will be a luncheon following the service at the Tam O’ Shanter, 2980 Los Feliz Blvd. in Atwater Village between Boyce and Revere. Further details can be obtained from Chaplain Chuck Robertson; email him at: chuckrobertson39@gmail.com.

And next month the society will celebrate its annual St Andrews Day Dinner, set for Sunday, 16th November from 6pm at Spumante Restaurant, 11049 Magnolia Blvd. in North Hollywood. Tel: (818) 508-7716, valet parking is available and the event features full bar service including an extensive range of single malt scotch.

For five years the St. Andrew’s Society has celebrated Scotland’s special day of recognition of its patron saint at Spumante. The intimate setting and personal service, not to mention the great food and presentation has made this event a favourite of Society members. Dress is Highland evening wear.

Seating is limited for this event, so those wishing to attend should sign up very soon. For more details contact Ian Skone-Rees at rees1@mac.com or call (818) 769-5166.
