Oscar winning musician Phil Collins thinks Oscar winning singer Adele is a “slippery little fish”… Oo-er!

adele-phil-collinsThe legendary Genesis drummer has been a prominent figure in music since the ’70s and counts Ice-T, Pharrell Williams and Wyclef Jean as famous fans.

Superstar songstress Adele is also an admirer of his work, although his hopes of them working together have seemingly been abandoned. Aww…

“She’s a slippery little fish is Adele,” Phil laughed in a recent interview. “She got hold of me and asked if I would write with her. She gave me a piece of music to finish and at first I didn’t know if I’d failed the audition as I didn’t hear back from her.”

He explained, “Then she said, ‘No, no, I’m moving house and the baby’s taking up a lot of my time, I’m not actually doing anything at the moment.’ And now I’ve heard there’s a (new album) coming out. I’m not on it, I know that.”

The snub will come as a blow to the Can’t Hurry Love singer, who heaped praise on Adele when he confirmed their collaboration earlier this year.

He said: “I’ve just started to work with Adele. I wasn’t actually too aware [of her work]. I live in a cave, but she’s achieved an incredible amount. I really love her voice. I love some of this stuff she’s done, too.”

Adele has kept mum about the title of the new album, but it’s rumored to be called ‘25’ following a cryptic tweet from the singer over the summer.

Adele and Phil have a lot in common, however, as they both have achieved huge mainstream success without courting publicity and that’s a rare feat these days!
