Meet Francoise Boufhal from Newcastle, who moved to LA two months ago to pursue modeling and hosting.

Was there a particular reason you chose LA?

Besides the beautiful weather and amazing food, yes, I knew it was the home hub to the type of work I wanted to do the rest of my life! LA is a place where you can be different and there’s a slot for you, there are opportunities here like no place else in the world.

What one thing do you miss from home?

Cups of Tea! Even though I bring copious amounts of tea bags here with me, it never tastes the same! Our milk at home tastes more milky, milk in the US tastes more goaty!

What do you find the biggest difference is living here versus Newcastle?

I can see the sky and the sun every day! Waking up to clouds and rain is rather miserable, that’s one thing I’ll never miss about Newcastle.

Do you have a hidden gem in LA that you want to share with us?

Yes! You must visit Crossroads Trading Company on 4th Street in Santa Monica. I found a brand new pair of Chanel heels for $30!

What would you suggest to others who are thinking about making the move here?

Be prepared, it won’t be easy but it’s definitely worth it. Between the paperwork and the settling in, it can be lonely and stressful, but once you get the hang of things the new world that opens up to you is priceless.

If your your life was a TV show what would be the theme tune?

Kiss Me by Sixpence None The Richer.

Lastly, how can we find out more about you ? Are you on the Internet?

I am a big fan of Twitter! I always put links up to my latest work on there @francoisebouf
