Cutting the passport control line? Now THAT’s luxury travel

Hey Breeps!

So how frustrating is it, coming back in to the States after a ten-hour journey and having to stand in the long-ass visitors queue at passport control?

Well if you are a citizen or a permanent resident (green card holder) there’s a life-changing option available. I’m sure most have you have heard about Global Entry by now. A pre-screening operation where you deal with a computer (bye-bye jobs), check-in and get your on your way. It truly has given me time back. And on the way out of the States you join a special line going though security called TSA-Pre-check. A usually shorter line where you don’t have to remove your laptop and toiletries from your carry-on – and the best part…you don’t have to remove your shoes or your belt. Score!

How do you apply?
Well, there used to only be one way and that was to make an appointment online and then wait six months for an interview at the airport. But now our friend Jonathan Cowley is making it a little easier. He is having an enrollment day at The TravelStore in Brentwood facilitating a Global Entry interview event in collaboration with US Customs & Border Protection.

There is a government fee of $100 which covers the traveler for five years and must be paid at time of the on-line application, however TravelStore is not charging any fees for facilitating the interview. They will also provide food and refreshments courtesy of the Four Seasons Hotel Group while travelers wait for their interview and cover the cost of parking in our building.

The TravelStore Brentwood is located at 11601 Wilshire Blvd., Suite 300 and the event is scheduled for August 12th from 10:00am – 3:00pm. To pre-register click HERE

Once online conditional Global Entry approval has been granted, the traveler will receive an email asking them to schedule an in-person interview.

TALK TALK

This week I was lucky to be a guest on Accent on TV – on L.A. Talk Radio as a guest of Ilona Europa and Brit DJ Lucie Hill. (And no you don’t have to have an accent to be on the show, but it helps!!!) thanks for having me on Lucie! Another guest was Michelle Tyler who is a Stevie Nicks look (and sound) alike. And she sang live in the studio, which was a real treat. If you want to watch the interview and segment click HERE.

BREKKIE GOODIES

For your chance to win goodies like this, or just to make some new friends over a great British breakfast, join us any Tuesday at 9.30am at Cecconi’s in West Hollywood.
