Meet A Member: Steven Alexander

Meet Steven Alexander from London who moved to LA 20 years ago to pursue filmmaking.

bila-mamWas there a particular reason you chose LA?

Yes indeed. Los Angeles is the premier location for everything filmmaking, from screenwriting through post production and everything in between.

What do you miss most from home?

The London Vibe. It’s a vibe you can only feel when in London.

What was your first impression of LA and has it changed since ? If so why?

The expansiveness. It’s spread out, LA is a collection of small towns, if you will, that make up Los Angeles, and Los Angeles County. Over the years, it has become more congested, the traffic for one can be quite maddening.

What do you find the biggest difference is living here versus London.

The weather and the California lifestyle.

Do you have a hidden gem in LA that you want to share with us?

Three come to mind. “The Bourgeois Pig”, a coffee shop in Hollywood, “Cha Cha Cha”, a Cuban Restaurant in Silverlake (a great place for brunch), and “Sage”, a vegan bistro, in Culver City. I have quite a few, but these three come to mind.

What would you suggest to others who are thinking about making the move here?

Get used to the idea spending a lot of time in your car, and develop a tolerance for traffic.

Lastly, how can we find out more about you? Are you working on anything at the moment?

I have just completed my second Feature Film “A Night Without Armor”. We are currently in the final stages of post production and we have an indiGoGo campaign running (We need all the support we can get)
