Meet A Member: Caroline Langford

Meet Caroline Langford from Brighton (and then Tel Aviv), who moved to LA 12 years ago ‘to pursue sunshine, work and happiness’!

Was there a particular reason you chose LA?

The weather. Beforehand I was living in New York and I couldn’t take the long winters with the blizzards.

What  do you miss most from home?

Family of course, but also the food and the sense of humor/humour!

What was your first impression of LA and has it changed since?

12 years I have been here, it stays more or less the same. Hot!

What do you find the biggest difference is living here versus Tel Aviv?

The sense of belonging, where everyone is like a family member. Here it is easy to go a long time before seeing friends.

Do you have a hidden gem in LA that you want to share with us?

Oh Fancy That! British shop with all the goodies in Tarzana. Jean, who runs it makes you feel like she has just arrived from England, even though she’s been here for years.

What would you suggest to others who are thinking about making the move here?

Have a good amount of money saved up beforehand. Unless you’re twenty, roughing it isn’t fun.

Lots of our members join our group Brits in LA seeking out words of wisdom – what is the best piece of advice you’ve been given?

Don’t take anyone seriously if they promise something!

Lastly, how can we find out more about you? Are you working on anything at the moment?

I am busy doing standup comedy around town. If you want to see where I am performing, you can follow me on instagram @carolinelangfordcomedy and my website: www.carolinelangford.com
