{"id":19459,"date":"2016-07-02T04:17:18","date_gmt":"2016-07-02T11:17:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.british-weekly.com\/?p=19459"},"modified":"2016-07-02T04:17:18","modified_gmt":"2016-07-02T11:17:18","slug":"could-daniel-radcliffe-return-as-potter-in-the-cursed-child","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.british-weekly.com\/?p=19459","title":{"rendered":"Could Daniel Radcliffe return as Potter in \u2018The Cursed Child&#8217;?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/wwwseanborg.com\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-16505\" src=\"http:\/\/www.british-weekly.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/sean-borg-final.gif\" alt=\"sean-borg-final\" width=\"216\" height=\"39\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>It\u2019s been a couple of weeks since the new Harry Potter play\u00a0\u2018The Cursed Child\u2019\u00a0started previews and we\u2019re still just about a month away from opening night, which means we\u2019re all wondering\u2026when\u2019s the movie coming?!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-19467\" src=\"http:\/\/www.british-weekly.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/daniel-radcliffe.gif\" alt=\"daniel-radcliffe\" width=\"216\" height=\"196\" \/>The good news is British actor\u00a0Daniel Radcliffe\u00a0isn\u2019t ruling out a return as\u00a0everyone\u2019s favorite English wizard should the new play ever\u00a0become a film.<\/p>\n<p>Oo-er!<\/p>\n<p>The young star, who rose to fame as a child playing\u00a0JK Rowling\u2019s iconic wand waver, has since gone on to carve a career playing varying roles from beat poet\u00a0Allen Ginsberg\u00a0in \u2018Kill Your Darlings\u2018 to, most recently, a farting corpse in \u2018Swiss Army Man\u2018.<\/p>\n<p>Radcliffe\u2019s next\u00a0flick sees him take on the role of a magician in \u2018Now See You Me: The Second Act,&#8217;\u00a0but he has not completely shut the door on Hogwarts.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt would depend on the script,\u201d\u00a0Radcliffe told\u00a0<em>Radio Times\u00a0<\/em>recently when asked if he could be tempted to take the role as an adult Potter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe circumstances would have to be pretty extraordinary. But then I am sure Harrison Ford said that with Han Solo and look what happened there! So I am saying \u2018No\u2019 for now but leaving room to backtrack in the future.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2018The Cursed Child\u2019 opened for\u00a0previews\u00a0in London earlier this month, but\u00a0Radcliffe is unlikely to attend.\u00a0\u201cIt would be a weird one. I could be completely wrong in this but I feel like if I went to see it, there\u2019s going to be a lot of\u00a0Harry Potter\u00a0fans there and would that then become a thing?\u201d\u00a0he told\u00a0E! News.\u00a0\u201cI would never want to do anything that would distract or take away from the\u00a0show.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Co-written by Rowling, \u2018The Cursed Child\u2019 is the first new\u00a0Harry Potter\u00a0story in nine years. Little is known about the plot, bar that the story is set 19 years after characters of\u00a0Harry, Ron and\u00a0Hemione waved goodbye to Hogwarts.
